Alex Breindel has been selected to be the regimental commander for the Norwich University Corps of Cadets during the 2015-2016 academic year.

The word spread fast on Tuesday when it was announced that Alex Breindel had been selected to be the regimental commander for the Norwich University Corps of Cadets during the 2015-2016 academic year.
Breindel was chosen by President Richard Schneider after a long selection process. The president had been given five choices by Commandant of Cadets Russel Holden and the current Regimental Commander, Regan Steen.
The other finalists included Mario Caruso, Samuel Delong, Dylan Gregg, and Lance Ostby.
Breindel, a native of Goldsboro, N.C., will be commissioning with the U.S. Air Force next May. He’s also a math major. “It’s been a while since there was one of those,” he said.
“One of the things we’re going to work towards is giving the upperclassmen more training,” Brein- del said in a brief interview after his selection. He emphasized that he wants to increase “one-on-one” communication within the corps.
“I want to stand in front of the corps and tell them what decisions are being made and why, so they don’t have to hear it through the grapevine,” he said. Other leadership positions in the corps are to be filled in coming weeks.
